Saving Time with ShopKey Pro’s Breadcrumb

As a child, did you ever read Hansel and Gretel? If you didn’t, let me tell you a story about two children who went on an adventure into the forest. They began to leave small pieces of bread behind them as they navigated through the forest in hopes they would later be able to follow the breadcrumbs home. We have adapted the same concept into ShopKey Pro.

For example, let’s take a look at the DTC for a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. Looking at the diagnostic trouble code, P0101, and navigating to the Test Description, you will see blue highlighted text. These are links to additional content.

When you select one of the blue links, a new window will overlay the content you were previously viewing. This new window will present additional content and begin a breadcrumb trail that can be seen at the top of the window. This will allow you to navigate forwards and backwards to any content you have selected previously. In the example below, notice that Diagnostic System Check – Engine Controls has been added to the breadcrumb.

Scrolling through the content, you will see a link for Power Mode Mismatch; select it. Then, find the link Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and select it.

You will see at the top there are now two blue breadcrumbs and one black breadcrumb. If the second blue breadcrumb (Power Mismatch) is clicked, it will take you back to the previous screen you were viewing. Using the breadcrumbs will let you easily navigate back to previous articles without having to start all over. It’s a real time saver!
